De Fabriek

De Fabric is a cultural organization that has squatted a factory in Rotterdam. There is a movie made by Jup de Heer about the amazing history of this place. Take twenty minutes to watch it. Believe me, it is really worthwhile.
So far, De Fabriek is already a quite active cultural centrum with:
- 6 persons living;
- 6 ateliers;
- 12 artists using the ateliers;
- 1 band rehersal space;
- 1 audiorental company(squatdeluxe);
- 3 halls for public use.
Currently, they are working on a big hall for movie production and a dormitory for hosting “Artists in residency”.

The Salon

The Salon is the entrance room of De Fabric.
Here will be organized talks, discussions, screenings and a chill out area.
Area: ±120m2
Capacity: 100 persons
The Basement
|
During the day, there will be jam sessions and movies screening. During the night, this will become the dace zone.
Area: ±70m2
Capacity: 70 persons
Hangar
The Hangar is the newly renovated area of De Fabric. The main exhibition will be. Performances and workshops will happen here too.
Area: ±200m2
Capacity: 100 persons
